A few questions for you; what is your rotation? How much nitrogen do you apply? When do you apply all one shot, or split applications?
We all understand that tillage will reduce organic matter, but in combination with nitrogen the organic matter will really decrease, but with high nitrogen applications this same phenomenon is possible.
I would agree with Steve there might be a lab issue, or sampling issue? I would make this statement a soil test is a moment in time and we are assuming that half a pound of soil is a representation of 2,000,000.00 pounds of soils which would be your top six inches of soil!
