Ask the lab if they changed the method of determining O.M. I had the happen to a lab i was using. There are several ways to measure OM. I sent around an identical sample once that varied a full percentage point. Aside from that, are you able to use any cover crops in your rotation? I believe cover crops build OM faster/better than no till alone. Would be interesting if others agree...
All areas and soil types are different but my OM levels moved from the low 2's 25 years ago when i started no tilling and now are in the mid 4's. The trend line is a tenth of a point each year. Been using cover crops extensively for the past 20 years or so.
