SW Minnesota
You say that this year you sold half of your hay directly out of the field. If you think that will continue or the percentage you sell out of the field will increase, then a NH stackwagon isn't a good idea. An accumulator works best in that situation as you can pick up the bales and load them directly onto the racks or trailers your customers will use to take delivery of their hay. You would have to handle them again if you used a stack wagon. I would recommend getting an accumulator that doesn't drag the bales on the ground. Pretty much every brand out there has been covered in previous posts - you would have to pick the type that fits your budget and your fields. I would also recommend getting one that puts the bales flat (twine side up) rather than on edge - they will stack a lot easier on the racks (and stay that way if you are roading them for any distance). I have a Kuhns accumulator and bale grab and I love it. Mine is a Model 1036F and it makes a 10-bale pack stacked flat. The 2 end bales are turned so I can stack them alternately each layer and tie the bales together that way. Check the link posted in a previous post to see a video of the Model 1036 in action.

If your customers are more than a few miles from you fields, hay baskets probably aren't a good fit either.
