I would plant a block instead of a row all over. We notill ours and we plant ngmo. The se/seq are pretty tough and we plant it the same time as our field corn. My experience with sh varieties is that soil temps need to be close to 70....I just plant the se/q varieties. Some varieties give better stands than others but my stands are never bad and most times will run 90% or more of drop. I like Avalon.
