North central North Dakota | I have been using Quickbooks for years in my farm operation and like it. It does what I need for my financial needs. Only thing that I have been doing to make a more accurate balance sheet is to add in my crop inventory value from a spreadsheet program that I use. I found no easy way to keep crop records in QB so use the spreadsheet. My lender has worked with me this way for years also. I also do payroll with QB but do not pay for the subscription service. I just manually enter the deductions from the paychecks and process. I have always had Quickbooks print my checks for me also. I used to preprint my checks with the basic Versacheck program but just ordered the version that prints on blank stock right from Quickbooks.
If you want field record keeping, then you should look at other programs. I have been a longtime user of Farmworks but have now given up on them also. I wanted to have Farmworks do my accounting and field record keeping but unless you use only Trimble products, not a good software program anymore - at least for me. Seems like you have to have software from each precision hardware company that you have hardware for. (SMS if you have AgLeader, Farmworks if you have Trimble, Apex if you have John Deere)
I think there is a software company called Flagship technologies that can give you some more reporting from Quickbooks, they may post a response also. Have not used their products. |
