A friend of mine has an XD in 40 caliber with a shorter barrel (not sure on the length). It feels great in the hand but the trigger seemed a little different to me and I'm use to the goddy 1911 style trigger. Other than not being able to hit the broad side of a barn with it, it shoots great. I'm sure after a couple hundred rounds I would fall in love with one. Good Hunting.
