Subject: Re: Best practice for planting corn headlands?

SE Michigan
Our sprayer covers 3 passes of corn planter so we always plant two passes on each side of field and plant head lands first. This allows row shut offs to function properly. We have few fields with straight sides so A-B lines are often in middle of field. With row shut offs point rows on each side of field is not a problem. Head lands are 4 or 5 passes in most cases, with more by a woods that might have wet ground at harvest time.
