"Here" we got caught this year with some gullies in our no-till fields that should have had waterways on them. When dad met with the guy from NRCS he basically told him that if you have trees on a waterway they don't even check for issues but a gully in a field is immediately a red flag. Our argument was that we still lost much less soil than if we were conventionally tilling and filling the washouts every year. But we are going to have to do more work on waterways that used to be sowed in the 90s and are now planted or shrunk to 1/4 of their original width. No restrictions mentioned on how close you can plant to a stream or ditch but it just better not wash.
