I was thinking about doing just what you did, but I was told that it would not pass inspection. The fan can't be in the living space. If the pressure side of the pipe develops a leak, the radon will be forced back into the living area. Only suction pipe can be in the living area.

Seems like a slim chance of a leak, but I guess it makes sense.
