Home test kits that test over a lengthy period are actually recommended by the radon professionals I've talked with. The short-term electronic monitors are quite sensitive to environmental factors (wind, especially) that the meter may give erroneous data. With the lengthy exposure of the longer-term home tests even out the highs and lows. Integrated over a long period, the pros say there is more reliability in the average generated.
