Central Kansas | I think what you have settled is pretty decent but I'm not sure I would use sorghum or Sudan. Especially going back to corn or milo. My experience is that you may tie up some applied n in the spring. I could be all wet. The rest of the mix is a lot like what I am looking at for next summer. I was going to use my drill and run the radishes in 30in rows and the other legumes through the fert box as a broadcast.
By the way DT you asked about my oats and radishes in milo stubble. They really worked out well and grew pretty well overall. Got pairs on both fields at the moment but may not get quite as much grazing as I would like but we'll see how it goes. I can find a little atrazine damage in the ends where we doubled up but overall nothing major. I'd add pics but I have all this tech but still am too dumb to figure how to post them. | |
