Your right about the CWB, in Western Canada we have the CWB and we can preprice the futures on wheat but not the basis or grade adjustment. The basis starts after Feb and the grade spreads in the fall with movement at the CWB's call. In my opinion this will limit wheat acres as last year the basis got monkeyed with and I figured nearly a dollar/bus got lost. Too nervous to book more wheat with this option open for the CWB so I think grains such as barley, peas and canola and durum(to some extent) will be the gainers. I would suspect wheat may be the same as last or possibly even less if a message is being sent to our beloved(not) CWB.
