Troy, Missouri
We sell a lot of Ag Leader equipment where I work at. We sell Trimble too, but I find Ag Leader far my easier to work (have also played with it more, so that is a factor too). I haven't played with JD monitors much, so I can't say anything about them. But as for Ag Leader, you can control a lot of different operations with them if you have plans of growing or using the monitor for more than just planting: spraying, tillage, fertilizer spreading, yield monitoring. A big thing about the yield monitoring, you can get the % of error down to less than 1 % (so, if it says you're producing 150 bu Corn per acre, its probably either 149 or 151 bushels. Very accurate). It's just the way the monitor goes about calibrating itself, it's able to take in more variable than a JD monitor can. But, a real factor too is will you have the service in your area to help you with it if something goes wrong? It sounds like you have pretty good Deere service there, so that may be the thing to go with perhaps.
