Subject: 2013 HRW Wheat stumbling out of the blocks..

We had sustained wind gusts yesterday of.. must have been near 50 mph here.. and visibility of about 1.5 miles.. it looked like a snow storm.. only it was dust.  On the news this morning there is word of a multi-vehicle pileup (at least 35 vehicles involved) along I-35 in Northern Oklahoma due to visibility as low as 10 feet.

Here's some pictures of the Interstate pileup..

We are stumbling out of the blocks on this HRW Winter Wheat crop.. there were Several fields sifting yesterday.. we will need moisture before Freeze up in order to get SOMETHING growing in order to hold the soil.. "not looking too good right now."

In the past 30 days some of our fields have had less then 0.50" to establish a crop.

On the flip side.. a good percentage is in and up and established.. acres.. just may be higher.. depending upon which actually makes it.. We need Rain.. We need it NOW.. and if We do not get it.. you can expect more of the same as shown above this winter.

IF we could just have a normal winter/spring of moisture this could be a very good crop.. if not...???
