Rivers, MB | Yep, it will be a good day. i was never a CWB basher, even felt they did some good things and were quite competent at times, but the freedom to sell our wheat to whom we want, when we want and for a known price will very nice.
My grandfather passed away this winter and we were going through some of his things. He had every one of his permit books still from 194? - 1981. I had forgotten that way back, you didn't even have a choice as to which elevator you would deliver to. The elevator that you signed up your book at was the place you had to deliver and they were stringent on that. Wow.
I'm keeping all those old permit books including our own farms from the 60's to this year so that I can show my kids some day how we "had" to sell grain. I don't think they'll believe me otherwise.
A few years back, didn't think this day would come.
