East central Iowa | Alot of people have very dry and poor condition crops and my thoughts and prayers for Rain go out to you. I seriously need lots of rain to make a good crop. An agtalk poster said, "If you have crop ins. why worry about it", I think you all covered the thought behind trying to raise a good crop very well. Many farmers in my area believe it always rains 5 minuts before it's too late. Maybe this year it won't, time will tell. It's frustrating to try to do all things right and realize with lack of rain it doesn't matter. I had a gut feeling we would be in this position. The last two years have raised better yield of corn and beans ever on my sub-standard ground. I'm very lucky to have a diversified operation so I can work on other projects. So keep your chin up your not alone and nobody can predict the future, especially weathermen and the guberment.
