| Actually, 55% in 5 years is about a 9% return per year. Have to remember compounding. Farmland should also have a 4-5% cash return to add in each year. So, if you figure 13.5% total return each year for farmland that's 88% over 5 years. In the last 5 years, the DJIA has gone up 76%. If you are investing with some type of IRA or other tax sheltered retirement account, there would be significant tax savings with the DJIA indexed investment.
