Brisbane, Australia | The other issue we have found here is that the Deere model doesn't actually seem to produce a "straight" line as such. We have dozens of examples but the most dramatic has been a control wire for a 4.5 km long lateral irrigator that was marked out with a Deere RTK system. When surveyed in with a Trimble RTK survey system and found to have a 45 cm (18 inches) curve it pretty much explained the reason why the irrigator was always running hard against the control wire, always to the same side. Now we have rebuilt this channel to true straight the customer who still has Deere guidance has to now put up with the wheels of the irrigator running across the rows at the end of each 1.6km long section.
I know there is no "official" standard here but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect that the concept of a "straight" line should be just that, straight. | |
