My thought on the why would be you are more likely to use Youtube and Netflix if you have a bigger screen and the easy of using home theater systems. Would use potentially more bandwidth than surfing the web on a smartphone. Otherwise, I agree with you. You are buying the access to the web, how you get there is (should be) up to you.
