Getting GPS in would be the next problem.

Why? The Pro 600 has a 9-pin (DE9) port on the bottom. Can't get much more standard than that.

If it's wired for Insight I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper (and better) to find an used Insight or Integra/Edge to put in there.

Again, why? Cheaper, probably, since the combine is already wired for the Insight, but better? Depends on his situation. It sounds like he already has the Pro 600, probably from a tractor, planter or sprayer, so why introduce another display into the mix (cost notwithstanding)? I understand you're no fan of the 600, but the AL product isn't necessarily "better" for every user. (Neither is the Pro 600, or the Trimble FmX, or whatever other display you want to consider.)
