Especially in the 2 and 3 dollar corn days I made more money on small fields that the big guys would not bother with than on bigger plots. If you look around a lot of time you can find some small acreage to work for free or low rent that people want worked to keep the weeds down or have a hunting area or want worked so it does not get taxed as recreational rather than ag land. $25.00 dollar rent in the era of $7.00 corn can make a nice sideline....
