I work for a software group. Dos based programs work fine on any 32 bit machine includeing Win 7. However for best result stay with business machine running XP. Bigest problem is printer support. Some of the real old Dos would only print to LPT printer (printer cable had huge 32 pin connector). Newer dos software can print to USB printer through windows default printer (years ago LPT port was the default). There is a process to capture a USB port for DOS LPT printing. Best advice is to first try software on business (XP pro) machine and try printing any reprot before you get too excited. If all else works but reports fail ask about USP port capture. Avoid Vista or 7 because software will be treated as hostile because of new limits on how the operating system registry is used. With the 64 bit machines DOS is actually deceased except with Win 7 Pro Microsoft will give you the XP virtual environment and guess what.....you can still run DOS.
