| LOL! So get Quicktime then. Apple certainly isn't the only one that pulls that crap. I had to download a plug-in to watch WINDOWS media on my Mac back when I made the switch. You really aren't going to tell me that Apple is more evil than Microsoft for this, are you? ;) If you do, I'll tell you that Microsoft is more evil since I'm willing to bet that more media is consumed through iTunes (for both Mac and Win) than Win Media Player.
Trust me, I agree with the point you are making. Media formats should be standardized, same as hydraulic couplers are on farm equipment. Even Mother Deere finally came to its senses a number of years ago and started putting Pioneer couplers on their tractors.
Another option is to download VLC. It's a free, cross-platform media player that will play just about any format under the sun. I used it on Windows and have it on my Mac too. | |
