Subject: Re: Antenna Placement for EZ Steer

SA, Australia
As FRMLPLR says I've had a hell of a lot of tractors steer within 5cm (2") with the antenna on the top of the cab. Hell even (New) Case Puma's I'll put them where the Accuguide ready 262 usually sits which is near the Back Axle and they'll steer within 5cm.

The reason you should NOT put the antenna on the nose is because of multipathing, where the GPS signal bounces off the windscreen (and possibly other things as well and gives a reading slightly off the same signal that hit's the antenna directly. I know all (newish) Trimble recievers have technology to stop that from interfering with anything and hence lowering accuracy but can't say about any other brands.
