If it is a standard inductive prox sensor,they are readily available through most electrical wholesalers( Lawence and Hansen ,NHP etc.) But you would need to know more info on the type. They can be npn , pnp normally open, normally closed etc. Most are 10-30v DC so voltage shouldn't be a problem.
To get one to sense a further distance the diameter will usually increase.
