I use IE7 at work and IE8 at home. Whenever IE gets slower or start operating funny, I go to Tools/Internet Options (in IE8), and delete all things in Browsing History. By deleting the browsing history, it seems to cure a lot of problems. In the settings, I set the disk space to use at the minimum. Which in IE8 is 8MB. Helps me on some of these problems.
