southern MN | I had my 1st 2 built that way from local places, and had kinda bad experiences - not even very far from you. Very slow on getting them, and they liked to use demo software or open box policies.... Got parts that were all different colors.
Last several computers I ordered through Dell on the internet, got quick service, got what I wanted, and really had no tech issues to deal with at all. Often saved state sales tax, tho that issue comes & goes depending on tax law that year....
I understand Dell support has slipped back to what other big sellers have, hear Gateway might be a better company again at this time; but I'd go to one of the big places & order on-line, get the options wanted, and sit back and enjoy it. Got tired of the local 2-bit places taking 2 moths to build me a computer of suspicious licences.....
Not to disagree with you, just offering the other side of the coin how it went for me.
