Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas | Hi Talk,
If you are experiencing 100% cpu usage, it could be due to lots of things. It may be your computer running a backup, maybe a virus, it may beone of your programs running or stuck in a loop. You need to find out where the origin is and get back to us.
One way to do this is to look at the process tree under the task manager. First type CTRL + ALT + DELETE. this should bring up a menu where you can choos 'Task Manager'. Click on the process tab. You will get a big list of processes that are currently running- hang out there for a while and watch the 'cpu' column; you may just see a process that is using between 80% & 100%. If it remains there a long time, that process is likerly your culprip. (Vista OS, others similar)
Take note of the 'Image Name' and the 'Description'- Google it or post it here and someone may be able to help.
good luck -jim | |
