My reply is based on what I found after aerial applications the last 3 years. The penetration of product into the canopy is about 18 " as they apply 2 gallons per acre...some years that may be enough but I am also applying insecticides and the shallow depth hinders their performance since I was attempting to control cherry aphids and corn aphids. I am also going to be using foliar fertilizer mixes as I try to push for higher yields. In the future as we move away from traited seed I will need to be able to treat western bean cutworms and corn borers. Also, the cost for aerial application is rising fast, approaching $10 per acre.....and I think that I will do a much better job. I looked at both a Hagie 2100 and a Walker/Nitro. I asked both companies about raising the sprayer up to a 7' clearance which eliminated the Hagie
