| Chad, if you want something convenient to travel with, read eBooks/iBooks or to just browse while setting in your easy chair, the iPad is a wonderful experience. After experiencing my son's, I'm going to replace my laptop with one when I get time to mess with it. But keep in mind that I have a desktop just around the corner for more serious computing. It's really amazing how close to a real computing experience they have bundled into the iPad. The on-screen keyboard is more than satisfactory for my hunt and peck skills. A real typist may have difficulty (no tactile feedback). I see FileMaker has an iPad version offered and the iWork suite gives you compatibility with MS Office. The G3 version would be extremely useful mounted in equipment cabs. The iPad gives a screen resolution that makes using a smaller screen very practical. Hope you can find a friend that will let you play with one. | |
