Subject: What Scot sent me

West Union, Illinois

I've mentioned Scott Ebelhar at Beck's before.  Here is an email he sent my dealer that I don't think he would mind my sharing.  If you are near the Evansville area their Southern Field Day is next Thursday at Ft Branch.  I know Scott will be there.

Subject: 15inch Row Wheat Plates

I have listed the contact info for the gentlemen who are selling the covers or plates needed to plant wheat in 15 inch rows.  We are still in the process of finalizing this year’s data, but the trends are very similar to last year which resulted in no significant difference between wheat planted in 7.5 inch and 15 inch rows.  The most profitable seeding rate for wheat planted in 15 inch rows was 1.25 million seeds per acre.

To plant wheat with a Kinze planter, a cover is required to keep the seeds from falling out of the 60 cell soybean plates.  If you have more questions or are interested in purchasing please contact:

Larry Hak

Conroy, OH

(260) 740-8267

Cost is approximately $24.95 per row.

To plant wheat with a JD vacuum planter you will need a plate specifically designed for wheat.  If you have more questions or are interested in purchasing please contact:

Mike Scott

Hoagland, IN

260-438-1694

Mike is charging $45 per row.  If we pool orders together and get more than 150 plates ordered, I can get them for $35 per row.  If there is an interest in doing this please give me a call.

Please forward this to your dealers and any customers that you think might be interested.  If I can be of any help by answering questions about my experience with 15 inch row wheat please give me a call at anytime.  I have used both the covers and the vacuum plate and feel comfortable with the performance I have seen.

Thanks!
