North shore of Lake Ontario | That was also the story in our area , all straw customers wanted long straw from a conventional. Well now there are only a handful of conventionals left so guess what? To get straw they will take from a rotary combine now. We used to sell straw but after spending hours on your hands and knees removing twine from trash cleaners and coulters, I said no more. So I priced it at 4 cents a lb and we chop it all back on the land. Does a world of good for soil structure! I would keep the red machine and motor on. It will sort itself out and you won't have to spend any money!
