Missouri river bottom south of Sioux City, IA
Hi Roger

My first base has been running for a little over 10 years until today. I replaced the MS750 and SiteNet 900 with an Ag900 base running GLONASS, otherwise the MS750 would still be running 24/7. No special protection for lighting but the base antennas are on top a concrete silo. I’ve got 12 other base installations, some on towers, grain elevator silos or grain legs. At the base locations using the grain elevator silos, I use a repeater on the silo to broadcast the signal. The base is on the ground were there is a clear view of the sky with easy access to power. That’s actually the best way to protect the base from lighting. The repeater may get smoked by lighting but they are less expensive to replace then the base.
