| I don't know where you are located, but around here there has been alot of 24 row planters bought in the last 2 years. I thought the old rule of thumb was 100 acres per row of corn but it must have changed. We haven't been able to keep the corn away from a 8 row the last few years, don't think we could gain anything from a 12 row except sitting in the field more with everything full. There is a pretty good price difference in a 16-24 row planter and a 8-12 row corn head IMO. If you need it thats fine, if it's always sitting and waiting it gets costly. | |
