we have 10 or so tower network, most have been up for 3 years now and have never been hit by lightning. 80-100ft towers depending what we have them set at. all we have on the towers is a lightning protector, something like this link http://www.l-com.com/productfamily.aspx?id=6196 .  which is between the transmitting antenna and the trimble box.  then again here in manitoba i would think we are in a lesser storm area than some places down in the states with the big storms.
