| One thing I would do on a "new" yard is to run a separate water line to every building/hydrant/where ever.
That way water leaks could be easily isolated and fixed when time allowed.
Digging up an entire yard looking for a water leak isn't much fun. The water doesn't always come to the surface near the leak, sometimes its 400' away.
Water lines would also be plenty deep so that a line that isn't used heavily in the winter wouldn't have a chance to freeze. Here that means 6'+ deep.
Some of the old ones on my place aren't deep enough. | |
