| I can remember listening to Jerry Clower & about busting a gut laughing at his stories about the Ledbetters. One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that a lot of his stories are based on true stories, he just "emblishes" them a little and gives referrs to them as the Ledbetters.
One story he use to tell was about Grandpa Ledbetter dieing & after visitation the family realises they don't have a family pic with "grandpa " & the others so they remove him from the casket, sit him up on a couch & the rest of the family gathered around & they took a pic & then put him back in the casket. Undertaker comes in the next morning & sees the body has been moved & asks the family but everyine denies it.
As riduculous as this may sound it was based on a true story that happened in a small NC town where my parents lived. Mom had heard the story from one of the family members severeal years before before Clower ever made a record about it. Naturally he has emblished the story quite a bit and it's a lot funnier him telling it but it did happen. | |
