Cedar Rapids, Iowa | You can run 32 bit programs on the 64 bit box. You cannot run 16 bit apps, so any software of that vintage is out. You could however run that stuff inside a virtual machine with a 32 bit OS, on top of the 64 bit OS.
64 bit windows doesn't like drivers that aren't signed. The only one I've come across is a virtual null modem program called com0com that creates two fake serial ports. I have to run windows in "test mode" to get that to work. Very few people will run in to that issue though.
