Subject: RE: Water GPM question

Wisconsin
How far? and what kind of pipe? the roughness of the inside of the pipe is a minor adjustment to the 3" size. The pressure drop is usually calculated per 100', doesn't matter if it's 20' or 2,000', the pressure drop per foot is the same. Fittings are calculated in also, usually as however many feet of additional length. If you want to get real picky then you need the temperature for the viscosity of the water.

For 25' of 3" pipe 15 psi will flow roughly 800gallons per minute, with no fittings and no backpressure at the end.

40' would be 6-700gpm with no kinks etc. No elevation change either, the elevation is easy to deduct from the initial pressure.
