EC SoDak | Good ol replant. I’d say I tend to do that more for a late freeze/frost or cold shock to the seed just after planting, sometimes for rain though. My grade tends to reduce the amount of replant I have due to rain at least.
It’s always fun chatting with folks (typically from Ag Talk or Ag Twitter) from tabletop flat areas that come out here and see what my farms are like. How we look at land with almost opposite points of view. I look at their flat and black like it’d be great for consistent yields vs my rolling terrain that in drier years gives up a bit of yield as you go up and down hills. They look at my rolling ground, especially the good black dirt, as a great way to shed water and not drown out the way they do. It all makes sense, due to vastly different avg moistures, but it’s always fun conversations. | |
