Fontanelle, IA | Based on the few sales I’ve seen, the simmX angus have been selling really really well. The straight weight angus sales have started to maybe trend downward maybe $200-$300 max per head depending on quality on average. Angus seems to have reached a saturation point with # of bulls offered. That, and lower grain prices I think have an indirect influence on “free” cash to burn on bulls? Who knows - I am just spitballing.
There were a few angus bulls in sales I watched that were “no saled” mainly because I think the auction run out of bidders. Breeder said any “no sales” would be priced higher than the floor price on the auction - which I guess would have kept some interested buyers bidding too.
Good luck Russ and family! | |
