Can I use APEX or should I get AFS software from Case IH if I want to map with this outfit??
Depends, if your going to use the Pro600 for combing then I would get the AFS software. But if your going to use the 2600 for harvest then I would map with the 2600 for planting then you can use the variety locator when combining, then you really don't need the AFS software. One thing is AFS software can read and write data from the 2600 also, but as of right now apex can only read or write data from deere monitors. To setup variety locator in the 2600 you do need to use apex.
WIll the 2600 map for me even though it's only there for GPS and not mapping of planted area?
Yeh you can map varietys with the 2600 You can either use a implement switch mounted on planter or if you have a new JD tractor you can turn mapping on or off with the scv.
