Subject: BBI Spreader Variable Rate

Linwood, NC
I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on the situation. I had a nice talk with the salesman for BBI about there MagnaSpread at the Southeastern Farm Show. The spreaders are now available with an IsoBus Ready option which comes with a controller/lightbar that is mounted in the cab. I explained to him that I wish to do variable rate in the future and he told me that all I needed was a tractor that had an IsoBus connector on it already. For example, if I had a John Deere 7430 that was Greenstar ready along with the StarFire 300 and GS2 2600 Display what else would I need to make variable rate work? Or would I be better of just getting a spreader and putting on the variable rate equipment from Trimble? Thanks
