Nw Iowa | I agree, on both accounts, not as much land for sale but when parents die, a lot of pressure to get ahold of that cash. So land sales never stop but they slow down. Some families will hold for higher prices in what they see as a declining market. That all said if you inherited a farm today that you had no interest in, would you rush to sell it now in a negative environment or would you wait knowing that it could be a few years or even longer? . Don’t know answer to that question, just curious what guys would do? Here up till now, less buyers at a auction, some slight down pressure, more on non prime pieces, but land is hanging in there. Minnesota land for most part has lagged Iowa since land has taken off land and alot of that is how favorable government is to farmers in the two states. | |
