The real question with solar is why if they can pay so much rent why they dont buy it ?
I asked their representative that question and she said that majority of solar projects never get completed. City officials, county zoning you name it shut them down. It’s less of a gamble to offer rent and if it doesn’t work they aren’t out anything.
Plus, the company that was poking around our neighborhood a couple years ago had the right to cancel the contract pretty much anytime they wanted to do so. Land owner obviously did not. In fact he could potentially be obligated for up to 60 years as the solar had the right to extend the 30 years by another 30. Read the contracts carefully, lots hidden in there.
