The low oil pressure light stays on. Is the sender on the truck or engine. Mech Gauge
works fine. Its in a fld 120. Truck is new to me and had ele. tape over the light.

I don't know about the oil pressure but I do know about the coolant temp. It has 2 sensors. One works the gauge and one works the warning light. Maybe the oil pressure is the same way.

Oh no, you removed the tape!!! Now you have to find the solution? I would trust the gauge and disconnect the light bulb or find if the wire to this bulb is shorting somewhere.

Well i wouldnt messed with tape. All the warning lamps and turn indicators go threw the printed circuit board.
And something was wrong with the turn signals, turns out it was the printed circuit board. So now i need to fix the problem next in line.

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Here is the most likely area, for the truck manufacturer to install an oil pressure "switch" (sending unit) on a CAT 3406B engine. It is the main oil gallery(of that engine), under the turbo/exhaust manifold area.

Red circle are all oil ports, that may have a sender.
