For running around, old S10's.
Yep I have one of those and it's been great for a "go to the office" truck and getting around. For everything else I really like by 2011 GMC 1500 w/ 6.2.

1967 Ford F250 4x4, 4 spd manual, we were the 3rd owner when we bought it in the mid 70's, with less than 30,000 miles. It was used as a field rig for lots of years, but now as a fencing & hunting pickup. If you get bored you can always watch the gas gauge head for empty as you're driving around, haha.

My 02 dodge 2500 diesel regular cab. I was riding around the dealers lot and found it sitting in the back where it had just been unloaded off the truck. It caught my eye and was love at first sight. I took her for a spin and signed the papers that day! She was all mine!
Fast forward 10 years and 180,000 miles, I had a brain fart and she rolled out of a parking lot and across the road and hit a building. $7,000 later she was fixed but I had a new truck already spoken for. I sold her on agtalk to a guy not far away. I hope he has been happy with her as I was.

My 79 chevy full time 4x4 Trailering Special with a 400 CI engine. Bought it new and still runs like a fine swiss watch. Never has been to the shop just regular maint. Still looks like new and no rust. Might have to put it in my Farm auction.

79 Ford F 250 for sure. That is a truck. They don't build them like that any more. My current Ford F 250 2003 with 7.3 diesel is the best Ford truck I have had in a long time. No rust on the body an runs great. The build quality is outstanding on that truck just hate to get rid off it.

'94 Chevy K2500. Bought it from a guy who fixed it up for his son to drive to high school, then the kid decided he wanted something else. I looked for a long time to find one this clean and I don't think I could part with it. Tried selling it once and just couldn't do it. Use it for pretty much everything. Need to get some air bag helpers on the rear springs.

1980 chevy half ton with full time 4wd. that pickup got the crap beat out of it for years. It never got stuck, it got ran in to by several tractors and cows, and was driven so hard it broke several leaf springs and transmission housings. It finally died of a cracked head, but was beat up so badly we decided to let it rip.

76 chev with the AWD transfer case and 400 small block. I got rid of it because the driver door was a day and a half from falling off. Sure miss full time 4wd and never having to wash it. Nowadays I enjoy brakes and cold weather starts.

1962 Chevy PU 230 6 cyl with 2 speed auto. We took out the automatic and put in a 4 speed manual with 12" clutch behind the 6 cyl motor. Then we had to put 10x16.5" tires on rear to get 55 mph. White PU with silver hood, yellow door and green bed. We called it rainbow. You could put the PU in granny and walk back to the trailer and bust bales for the cows as the pu ginned along at a workable pace. That pu would walk over some prett big logs.

1978 F-250 4x4, 4-spd., 400 CI... Bought it new and the biggest issue has been replacing the timing chain at about 175,000 miles. The only things I remember replacing out of the ordinary was a CDI box and a couple of alternators. It has the original exhaust system and starter and the AC still works.

2001 F250 with the 7.3, short box, ext cab, 4x4. Just a young pup with 135000 on it, a few dents and scratches and most generally never clean but all that just adds character.

In 78 my grandpa bought 4 new f250s with the big motor. Word was that was end of big motors I think. They were 6400 a piece I guess. Well they got home and didnt need one of them. Got parked in the shed. Say there for 25 years. Had 621 miles on it with window sticker still in it.
It ended up getting sold and now I wish we had that thing. Was yellow with white stripe. That two tone paint style.
The other 3 ran faithfully on custom harvest and home all winter and fall and spring. We reinforced tailgates with some 1/4" steel so we could toss rocks in back. They finally got parked in 09 out back. My dad said at that time everytime we fueled them up they doubled in value.

I bought this a few years back. Didn't have the money at 18, but sure wanted one bad. The second one was my first truck I bought in 1982. Used it on the farm for years then decided to fix it up and keep it forever.

A brand new, ordered special for me 1982 1 ton GMC 4x4 with a 4spd stick and 454 under the hood. It was all black with chrome rails on the box and looked sooooo good. I kept that truck for 19 years. That was too long but I just really liked it. The milage was even tolerable.

91 Chevy C1500. v-6 5spd 2wd. the engine sits far back in the chassis, so it performs great off road, even being a 2wd. never been stuck stuck. had to scoop snow once, but otherwise it just goes. the 5 speed makes the truck IMO, its geared very well. the 4.3L v-6 has great torque, and decent power, and great fuel economy. 1900 bucks, and my first pickup, and it will likely stay on the farm forever.

Had to be my 97 GMC Z71 ext cab, I bought it wrecked, fixed it back up in the shop 1 winter, ran it for several years, got totally abused, pulled pivots out with it, hauled seed with it and hit a bump at 10 mph and could see daylight under front tires, it got used but just kept ticking.
My 01 8.1, ended up having major motor promblems last fall and sold it and bought another 97 back for the farm, just love driving that thing, hope it holds up as well as the other 97 did.

1984 Dodge W250 that Dad bought brand new. Hauled hogs and everything else for ~300k miles until she was just worn out. I learned to drive in that truck. Ended up having to send it to the scrapyard a few years back. My current is a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4, only 118k on it so it will be around for quite awhile yet.

In 1994 I bought my first new pickup, a Dodge Ram 2500 4wd with a Cummins diesel and automatic trans. At about 48K miles Dodge put in a new transmission under warranty. It now has 228K miles, still going and should go many more miles/years yet.

2002 GMC 2500HD regular cab with a durmax. Came from California bought it as a theft recovery from a local wrecked car outfit. Just had to put a new drivers side window in it. Added a L shaped fuel tank tool box and air compressor as well as a montezuma that swings out when you open the tailgate.
