I have been wanting one of these for sometime and found it on tractorhouse not too far from me. Right or wrong it will be replacing my 06 jd8430 ivt ils. Now i wont have a note and money to spare. Parts are cheaper and this ole girl is built to last. I plan on doing some extensive updating to it before spring. Going to fully soundproof the cab with dynomat . Wideglide seat. Hid lights. Led warning light led hideaways in top flashers. 35% window tint. Try to soup up the a/c if possible. Sealed beam hood headlight conversion and may and some jake brakes for fun. I have also pondered if converting the braking system to air brakes would be better even though series iv are suppose to be good. This one appears it was well maintained and has new pins and bushings with a 3406b 20 speed. But i still am wanting a series iv panther or tiger automatic.

Nice! We have a CS325 Series IV but hardly ever use it since we're mostly no-till. The A/C on ours won't hardly keep up on those hot days so keep us posted on the A/C upgrades.

Wow that brings back some great memories. Bought one just like that in 84. Neighbor said they could hear that old Cat for miles at night when I was plowing by myself. Probably the most trouble free tractor I have ever owned. Give her TLC and she will never let you down.

Nice looking Steiger, I like your ideas for upgrades, I need to do some of the same to my Cougar. I keep telling the local tractor salesman, I am only going ot run the Steiger until it is worn out, looks like it could be a while!

Thats awesome. My dream is to have one with a 3406b ataac with an allison. Of course a little more turbo and some bigger nozzles to get the ole cat around 500 where she should be.... And to make me smile more :)

Definitely agree with wheatguy, the straight pipes on these tractors make them very noticeable. When I bought mine my grandpa told me the neighbor that had an older steiger could keep him up at night.

Welcome to the lime green brother hood I currently own 4 and my wife is thinking about a intervention. If the Steiger brothers and John Kinzenbauw were running the U S farm machinery industry instead of a broke crappy europeon car company and a bunch of Harvard MBA idiots at the other place all us peasents would be far better off.
