Subject: Homebuilt rock rake

MN
About a year ago a guy had a post with a rock rake he built. I've been doing searches and cant find the post. I'm considering doing the same thing, and wondering if he had any words of wisdom after using it a year.

Thanks

That would be me!
After using it some I realize the teeth are too close together and it rakes up too much dirt, I forget but I think I have 2-2 1/2" between teeth and more would be better except it will miss more rocks. Notice i made one wheel depth adjustable to keep it level in the ground. I used a JD 200 series reel drive motor and most of the time it has enough power but you can stall it. I already had the rods for teeth (engineering by inventory!!) but some 1/2 by 2 or three flat sock would probably work better.

That is a slick looking machine you built. I like the bent 2x6 for the mainframe.

Thanks for showing the pictures again. Hopefully when I get mine built it turns out as nice as yours.

Actually used an old disc frame that was already bent, EBI engineer by inventory again.
No pics of it working, sorry
I have been asked to rent it out by the ones left with the REX pipeline mess, but REX has been working with their own stuff, it puts my toy to shame.
