Subject: Cat Quad Track?


Cat prototype, was told only four in the world. This one in South Dakota 5 miles west of Hitchcock new ADM terminal.

Seems unlikely, but it looks like the rear-end is powered hydraulically. That can't be the case, but I do not see drive shaft passing through the articulated joint. -Mike

Not a CAT proto. Made by Mobile Track Solutions in IA, it's an aftermarket kit for CAT 740 ADTs.

Somebody needed to build one that would hold up in a scraper application. CIH doesn't. Lots of STX tractors with ATI tracks on them pulling scrapers instead.

I think steel tracks on an ADT hooked on pans are going to have a pretty narrow application band.
